Online Internship Programme on Mental Health and Awareness by Anon Global Foundation

The students of Queen’s Valley School participated in an Online Internship Programme on Mental Health and Awareness which was organized by Anon Global Foundation in collaboration with YWCA of India and World YWCA. It was a 15 day internship programme from 23rd January to 6th February 2021 wherein students presented their outlook and perspective via Movie on the topics given to them on Psychosocial and Mental Health through brainstorming, perseverance and determination. It was an enriching and fulfilling experience for all. The activity was conducted based on research, surveys, analysis, teamwork and presentation. Congratulations to all the interns for their diligent work and bagging various positions in the programme.

GD Goenka Colloquium MUN

Afiya Asif (XI-E) and Prachi Dahiya (X-E), represented the school at GD Goenka Colloquium, an inter-school event focusing on the importance of teaching students representation, diplomacy and debate through the format of an MUN. The conference was held on a virtual platform attending to the needs of the ongoing pandemic on 23rd and 24th January 2021. Afiya Asif bagged the High Commendation award in the UNHRC while Prachi Dahiya bagged a Special Mention award in the UNGA making the school proud .

UN75xSVIS by Sri Venkateshwar International School

Sri Venkateshwar International School organised Youth Dialogue of UN75xSVIS on Microsoft Teams from 15th to 17th December 2020 to commemorate the UN completing 75 years of its existence. The Youth Dialogue was convened to discuss the challenges and the problems faced by the communities in various parts of the world in the realm of climate change, violence, and healthcare and provide practical and implementable solutions. Manchint Kaur (VIII-C) has been awarded with ‘The Critical Thinker Award’ for achieving the remarkable feat in becoming the State Topper (Delhi) for class VII in National Assessment for Scientific Temperament & Aptitude-NASTA 2019 conducted by Knowledge and Awareness Mapping Platform (KAMP)on 27th and 28th January 2020 for all CBSE schools. District level Kala Utsav organised by Directorate of Education (DOE)

Disha Singh Mehra of class XI D participated in the District level Kala Utsav organised by DOE on 23rd November 2020. She made the school proud by securing the Third Position in Vocal Music- Traditional Folk.

Participants had to perform in their school premises in school uniform/costume in the presence of guide teacher/accompanist. A video of the performance was recorded & sent for judgement due to the current pandemic.

S.S Mota Singh Model School, Paschim Vihar organised 22nd S.S.M.S. Memorial English Debate Competition on 6th November ,2020 on Google Meet platform. Saibya Dhar (IX E) and Aishna Kasliwal (IX E) were awarded with the Special Jury award. The topic of the debate competition was – ‘The emergence of eBusiness has annihilated traditional business.’

THE QUEST- Sankalp Sahodya Inter-School Symposium

Prajakta of class XI A and Ananya Batra of class XI A won II Position in the Online Inter-School Symposium ogranised by Basava International School on 31st October 2020. The topic for the symposium was- Digital Learning: An Equalizer or a Divider in the time of the Pandemic. Both the participants presented their ideas with conviction and impressed the judges.

ISRO Cyberspace Competitions (ICC – 2020)

Indian Space Research Organisation organised online ISRO Cyberspace Competitions–2020 (ICC–2020) for the young minds of our country by involving them in various online competitions showcasing their potential talents. Laavanya Yadav of class XI E displayed appreciable performance in Essay Writing and ranked amongst Top 11 – 500 at All India level in Essay Writing Competition (English), Class 11 & 12 category. 30.07.2020: A virtual debate by The World Bank

The World Bank organised a virtual debate on 30thJuly, 2020, on the topic “Lockdown- Good Or Bad, Impact on Indian Economy and Our Society”. Dhimahi Doshi of class XII-B put forth her points ‘For the Motion’ and was declared as the ‘First Runners-Up’ in the Group A (children between 14-18 years). She had the opportunity to participate in a rapid-fire round with Junaid Ahmad, Country Director, India, of The World Bank on 4th August, 2020 and she was also awarded with a Merit certificate.

22.08.2020: RIPPLES 2020 by – MBS International School, Dwarka

Vanya Agrahari of Pre School Rapunzel participated in RIPPLES 2020, organised by – MBS International School. She bagged Third Position in the event- ‘Message of Gratitude: Cooking without Fire’. Vanya prepared a ‘creative’ dish using five ingredients only without the use of fire. The recording of the ‘making of the recipe’ had to be submitted up to 8th August and the result was declared on 22nd August 2020.

17.08.2020: ARCADIA 2020 by Paramount International School, Dwarka

Shivanshi Tiwari of PP Elina secured second position in Swastham Bavati -Spiritual stretching Yoga competition. The event was organised by Paramount International School, Dwarka in which students had to send a video executing 4-5 yoga postures with Rhythmic transition upto 17th August. Shivanshi’s video submission portrayed proper synchronization of music and postures.

12.08.2020: Ek Bharat, Shresth Bharat by St. Thomas’ School, Dwarka

St. Thomas’ School, Dwarka organised Ek Bharat, Shresth Bharat-An Inter School Competition. Kamakhya of class IV C secured second position in Art d’ Galore- Indian Folk-Art Painting competition. The participants had to email their paintings with a brief description of the “Folk Art” till 12th August 2020.

12.06.2020- 20.07.2020: All India Asteroid Search Campaign 2020 Phase-I

All India Asteroid Search Campaign 2020 was organised in collaboration with International Astronomical Search Collaboration (IASC) from June 12th to July 20th 2020. Laavanya Yadav and Shradha Srivastav, students from class XI-E have made six preliminary asteroid discoveries under the AIASC 2020 Phase-I.

10.07.2020: Online Annual Venkateshwar Sankalp Sahodaya SAT 2020

Online Sankalp Sahodaya SAT 2020 was organised by Sri Venkateshwar International School on 10th July 2020. The SAT Exam had questions from Science, Math and English. Saachi Kalra of class IV-B secured Rank-4 with a percentile of 97.88. Congratulations for her success!

Delhi Poetry Slam (DelSlam) – Poetry Writing Competition

Delhi Poetry Slam (DelSlam) is an independent publisher, featuring literary and cultural commentary from around the world.Priyanshi of class XII A has been selected to co-author a book by Delhi Poetry Slam. The book Going Off the Grid is published by Poem Pajama and Delhi Poetry Slam. Each poet had to contribute one poem for the book in the month of February. The book is currently available as an eBook and will soon be available as a paperback too.
