Yoga is the perfect opportunity to be curious about who you are.

On June 21st 2024, Queen’s Valley School enthusiastically celebrated the International Day of Yoga, a day dedicated to promoting physical, mental, and spiritual well-being through the practice of yoga. This annual event brought together students, teachers, and parents in a harmonious union of mind and body, fostering a deeper understanding of yoga’s profound benefits.
The day commenced with a serene and energizing yoga session led by certified instructors where they also focussed on this year’s theme that is, ‘Yoga for Self and Society’. Participants engaged in various yoga asanas (postures) and pranayama (breathing exercises), aimed at enhancing flexibility, strength, and relaxation.
Parallel to the yoga sessions, educational workshops were conducted for class X students to educate them about the origins and principles of yoga. These sessions highlighted the historical significance of yoga in Indian culture and its global relevance as a holistic health practice. Students gained insights into how yoga can contribute to stress management, mental clarity, and overall well-being.
To enrich the experience, the students of class XII also visited Morarji Desai National Institute of Yoga. Additionally, students learned about the employment prospects in this profession and underscored the interconnectedness of yoga with India’s rich heritage, offering a glimpse into the traditional arts that often accompany yoga practice. This inclusive approach resonated with the school’s commitment to holistic education and community engagement.
