“Give the pupils something to do, not something to learn; and the doing is of such a nature as to demand thinking; learning naturally results.

-John Dewey

HPE & SEWA

Traversing all conventionalities, the contemporary education system is undergoing a paradigm shift, ushering in an era of relentless quest for excellence and transforming the learning experience.

Health and Physical Education is considered an important part of the curriculum. Besides physical health, it includes mental, emotional, moral, psychological and spiritual development of an individual. The aim of mainstreaming HPE at Secondary and Senior Secondary levels is to enable the overall development including intellectual, personal, and social aspects of the students’ personalities.

A major strand under HPE is Social Empowerment through Work Education and Action (SEWA). The concept of SEWA aims to create compassionate human beings with enhanced social consciousness. The main objective is to engage children’s minds in constructive activities with positive outcomes through the facilitation of creative and critical thinking. This would help them to develop self-confidence and self-esteem. Students must appreciate interdependence of all human beings, and that they have a responsibility towards the society and the environment.

At Queen’s Valley School, we believe in graded and holistic development of learners by ensuring that they are exposed to a variety of learning experiences over the years. To achieve this, students are required to perform activities and create projects across the academic year as per the theme designated for a particular class.
