READING
At QVS, we promote a culture of reading in all languages and disciplines alike. We believe in the flipped classroom approach wherein research and experiential learning become the pivot to foster an environment where students actively engage with texts and ideas. This approach encourages learners to analyse, question, and connect the reading material to real-world experiences, enhancing comprehension and retention. By integrating discussions, collaborative projects, and hands-on activities based on independent reading, educators promote a deeper understanding of themes and perspectives.
Students are encouraged to select age-appropriate reading material to create reading projects and project portfolios. Students take initiative to convert long reading texts into group presentations and book talks. They also contribute to building and sustaining class libraries. This dynamic engagement not only cultivates critical thinking skills but also inspires a lifelong love of reading, as students see literature as a means to explore and interpret their own experiences and the world around them.
